Panama Stands with Jamaica
Help WCK provide fresh meals to communities in need
Join La Tapa Del Coco and La Despensa in supporting World Central Kitchen as they serve fresh, nourishing meals to families recovering from Hurricane Melissa.
After Category 5 Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, communities across the island were left facing destructive winds, severe flooding, and widespread loss. World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground responding immediately — cooking, serving, and delivering meals alongside local partners.
This initiative is especially meaningful to us. Chef Isaac Villaverde, founder of La Tapa Del Coco, is currently deployed in Jamaica as part of the WCK Chef Corps, working directly in the field to support relief operations. In Panama City, Chef Mario Castrellón and the team at La Despensa are joining forces to help amplify the impact from home.
From December 11 through December 31, La Despensa at TAF Costa del Este will offer two special collaboration patties:
• A Beef Patty filled with seasoned beef and soft scrambled eggs
• A seasonal Tamal Patty inspired by holiday traditions
100% of the profits from these patties will be donated to World Central Kitchen to support their emergency food relief efforts for Jamaica.
From Panama to Jamaica, our communities understand the importance of standing together in times of crisis. By supporting this campaign, you are helping World Central Kitchen bring comfort, dignity, and hope — one warm meal at a time.
World Central Kitchen is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
